How does Adopting a Yorkie Puppy Work?
If you’re ready to adopt one of our puppies into your life, you will find our process easy.

We love each one of our Yorkie puppies and we want to make sure they find the perfect home. We’d love for that home to be yours! But…it’s up to you to make sure that you are ready for a puppy and have the time and desire to care for all his needs.

Our Process
No-Obligation Waiting List
If we don’t have any puppies available but you want to be notified when puppies are born, we’ll put you on a no-obligation waiting list. If you’re on this list, we will be able to contact you and let you know when our puppies are born. At that time, you can decide whether or not you are still interested in one of our puppies.
Deposit
Once our puppies are born, we will start taking deposits. A deposit let’s us know that you are truly interested in a puppy. Once we receive your deposit, we will hold a puppy for you.
Choosing a Puppy
We believe that a puppy’s personality and characteristics should be matched with the needs and desires of her future owners. We wait until the puppies are 5-6 weeks old for future owners to choose which puppy they would like. By 5-6 weeks of age personality and size has become more apparent. Choosing your puppy can be done in person or via video.
Getting Your Puppy Ready for Your New Home
After you have chosen your puppy, you can also let us know what name you’re giving him. We will start getting him used to his new name.
You are also welcome to leave a crate with us (or if you’re far away – order one and have one shipped to us). Previously, we will have been practicing crate training with one of our crates, but we can begin practicing your puppy specifically with his new crate at this time, if you’d like.
If there is any other things you would like us to accustom your puppy to before he heads home, just let us know. We love to have them as prepared as possible for life with you.
Bringing Your Puppy Home
I will let you know when I believe your puppy is ready to leave our home. This is generally between 8-10 weeks. Puppy will have her early vaccinations and be dewormed. I also insure that she is doing well eating food on her own.
Finally, the day has arrived! You can bring your puppy home and you will receive not only your wonderful puppy, but also health records, paperwork, food, and a gift bag. You will also receive an item that smells like mom!
Final payment is due on the day you “fetch” your puppy!
Our puppies have become near and dear to our family and we’d love to see one make a new home with the right family.
Getting Ready for Puppy
Generally, we send our puppies to their new home between 8-10 weeks.
But don’t worry! You can still get to know your puppy in the meantime! We will update our Facebook page with pictures and videos of the litter – or if you’d rather – we can send the updates directly to you. If you’d like more pictures and videos than we are doing, don’t be shy about bugging us for more!
The wait for your puppy to be old enough to come home with you can be tough. But while you wait, you can begin to get your home ready for your new Yorkshire Terrier. Ask us for more information if you need help setting up your home.
